Giving Back
Both Clay Millican and team owners, Mark and Lauren Pickens, are known for service to others. Mark and Clay's friendship stemmed from a civic project led by Clay which created a new skateboard park in the team's local community. Other efforts range from humanitarian aid to Sudan to visiting the troops in Iraq.

Every round win for Clay Millican is a win for Sudan

When a visit to Sudan showed team owner Lauren Pickens firsthand the extreme poverty and devastation years of civil war had brought to Southern Sudan, she left vowing to God to make a difference. Seeing children naked, sick and starving, she realized her own dog who had clean water, food everyday and medical attention when needed, had a better quality of life than these Sudanese children.

She was determined to help and Hope4Sudan, a project that builds compounds with deep water wells, schools, medical clinics, and churches, was born. Hope4Sudan also partners with the Christian humanitarian aid organization, People to People, to provide feeding programs and child sponsorships.

Besides bringing awareness to the racing community, which in itself has produced great benefits to the cause, MPE Motorsports has pledged 10% of its race winnings, a donation that has already resulted in bringing running water and electricity to one of the compounds. Not only has Clay Millican's top fuel car championed the cause by bearing the Hope4Sudan emblem, but individual team members took action and went even further to accompany Lauren on various trips to Sudan. Every round win for Clay Millican is a win for Sudan.
